History

The need for Palliative Care in Airdrie & District developed through the collective desire of community citizens to improve support for families and individuals at the end of life. A small group of dedicated individuals came together to support this concept and formed the Airdrie & District Hospice Society in February of 2011.


The Society strongly believes their neighbours, friends and loved ones wish to be supported in the community while experiencing palliative illnesses. 

Our Mission


ADHS enhances community capacity by promoting physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

  • Further develop the Palliative Care Volunteer base.
  • Secure a part-time or contract paid staff person to handle daily operations.
  • Develop a sustainable fundraising plan and revenue stream.
  • Develop a Communications Plan.
  • Partner with Luxstone Manor to create two hospice suites.

Goals

  • Providing comprehensive and compassionate care end of life care of the highest quality.
  • Enhancing community capacity through Information and coordination of hospice service and programs.
  • ​Effective governance.
