HIKE FOR HOSPICE
Walk, run, bike or even cartwheel, you decide! Just be sure to have fun!
Join Airdrie and District Hospice society for our VIRTUAL Hike for Hospice and help us raise funds for a very important cause. From May 2 to 31, 2021, participants can raise funds and get active in any way they choose: walking, running, hiking, biking, or even running the treadmill at home.
The Hike for Hospice is a major annual fundraiser for Airdrie and District Hospice Society to raise awareness in our community about end-of-life care. The proceeds from this event enable us to continue to offer many of our programs for free.
Registration for Hike for Hospice is set up to go through the Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by Altalink donation platform. Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by Altalink provides a generous matching program that will increase your donation by up to 50%! After you have registered, check out the steps below to connect with other hikers online and collect pledges for your hike!

Step 1: Sign up
Click “register” below and donate the $20 registration fee on the Shaw Birdies for Kids donation platform to sign up. Any additional donations are greatly appreciated.
Step 2: Get Pledges
Download our pledge sheet and rally your supporters to sponsor you. Bronze, Silver and Gold Certificates of recognition will be awarded to the families/individuals who raise the most funds.
Step 3: Have fun!
Starting May 2, 2021, get out there, get active and have fun! Be sure to take pictures and post them on social media with the hashtags #HikeforHospice and #AirdrieHospice2021 to connect with other participants. If you get creative with a costume, you could even win a prize! See below for details.
Go the extra mile and dress up to win prizes!
Best Pet Costume: Take a picture of your fuzzy friend and post it on social media using #HospicePets and #AirdrieHospice2021 for a chance to win a gift for your little pal.
Best People Costume: Hike in your most creative attire, post the evidence on social media with the hashtag #HospicePics and #AirdrieHospice2021 and you could snatch up a prize for yourself (1st place = $100, 2nd place = $50 and 3rd place = $25).
